Create a site
Your site becomes usable for drivers once the site and a fleet have accepted an agreement offer and the charging points are technically connected. To get there, first set the site to In operation and define an agreement offer for the site.
1.Prerequisites
You have the Admin role. You also need a company, that is, the firm to which invoices and payouts are addressed.
This is created automatically when you register your organisation. If needed, you can add further companies in the organisation settings.
2.Step by step
- 1.First, go to Depot operator in the top left and then open Sites in the sidebar.
- 2.Click Add site in the top-right corner to open the Add site form on the right.
- 3.Under Site name, enter a name, and under Status, select whether the site is In operation or Planned.
In the Add site form, In operation is preselected.
If Planned is selected, fleets can initially only express their interest and will not see an agreement offer.
- 4.Then, under Site type, select one of the two options.
- Public charging site is publicly accessible and not restricted, for example, a charging park.
- Depot charging site is often located on private company premises, which is why drivers need access or have to register there.
- 5.Under Visibility, specify who can see the site.
- Visible to all fleets on Depotcharge displays the site to every fleet across the entire platform, that is, on Depotcharge, BGL Charge, and ASTAG charge, and is suitable if you want as many fleets as possible to find the site.
Fleets can accept the agreement offer directly on the map.
Depending on the agreement offer, you can approve or reject fleets.
- Visible only to fleets with an agreement shows the site only to fleets that already have an agreement, and is suitable if you want only your preselected partners to see the site.
- 6.Under Company, select the appropriate company from the list, as this is where the payout for the fleets' charging sessions will later be sent.
- 7.Under Use the map or enter the address of your site, click on the map to place a pin, so that the address fields are filled in automatically.
- 8.Next, check Street and house number, Postcode, and City, and correct the details manually if necessary.
- 9.We recommend that you optionally enter a Description of no more than 50 words.
Under Driver access support, you can also enter an Access description and an Access code.
However, only enter the code if drivers need it for the site.
If the field is left empty, the site details page will not display a code.
- 10.Under Support contact, enter a Phone number and an Email address.
Although this information is optional, we strongly recommend providing it so that fleets can contact you directly if they have any questions.
- 11.Under Opening hours for external fleets, select either Open 24/7 or Has opening hours.
If Has opening hours is selected, please activate the days of the week on which the site is open, and then enter the opening times for each day.
- 12.To help fleets know what to expect on site, you can optionally select the relevant information from these groups.
- Energy supply with Green electricity and Load management
- Site facilities with Overnight charging permitted, Parking and Truck wash
- Driver facilities with WiFi, Toilets, Vending machine, Coffee, Restaurant or canteen, Washing machine, Shower and Grocery shop
- 13.Optionally, under Upload site images, you can upload up to 10 images in PNG, JPG, or JPEG format.
This is worthwhile, because good images, facilities, and opening hours help determine whether truck drivers will choose to visit your site.
- 14.Finally, save the site using the button at the bottom of the form.
3.Result
The new site will appear in the list under Sites, and you can now add charging points and set up agreement offers for the site. If you would like to offer a community tariff to members of the BGL Charge community, please select Community fleets as the fleet partner in the agreement offer.
IMPORTANT: Once the charging points have been created with their data, your backend/CPMS has to be linked to our system.
We already have a plug-and-play solution for many backends/CPMSs, but some systems still require a more complex integration. To do this, simply contact support.
4.Note
With Plan site, you register a site that does not exist yet. In the Plan site form, the status Planned is preselected for this, so that fleets can express their interest.
This way you can tell whether there is demand before you invest.
Note that visible does not mean usable, because only fleets with an agreement are permitted to charge. So create the appropriate agreement offer after the site has been created.
